چکیده

Defect-rich graphene oxide (dGO) was used as sorbent for organic contaminants of emerging concern in tap water, including drugs and dyes, the performance compared to those lower-defects types. The role holes carbonyl- carboxylic groups on nanosheets surface adsorption mechanism efficiency investigated. dGO showed enhanced capacity toward two fluoroquinolone antibiotics (ofloxacin, OFLOX, ciprofloxacin, CIPRO) water with a maximum 650 mg/g, 204 mg/g Hummers derived commercial GO (hGO) 125 less defected Brodie (bGO) OFLOX. defects selective OFLOX also modelled by MD simulations, highlighting mainly driven shape complementarity between molecules. Adsorption isotherms revealed different model dGO, Langmuir fitting BET all other investigated samples. about six times higher than that Granular Activated Carbon (95 mg/g), industrial standard technology. Finally, it demonstrated can be recovered from treated ultrafiltration, this preventing secondary contamination risks enabling safe use purification.

Hydrogen adsorption by g-C3N4 and graphene oxide nanosheets

The adsorption behavior of hydrogen for synthesized graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) and graphene oxide nanosheets was compared. The structure of the prepared g-C3N4 and graphene oxide samples were studied using TEM, FT-IR spectroscopy and surface area analysis. Textural results of the prepared nanosheets show that the surface area, total pore volume, and average internal diameter of g-C3N4 an...

Adsorption of organic contaminants by graphene nanosheets: A review.

Graphene nanosheets (GNS) such as graphenes and graphene oxides (GOs) have been widely investigated as next-generation adsorbents in both water and wastewater treatment processes due to their unique physicochemical properties and their affinity towards different classes of organic contaminants (OCs). In the last five years, more than 40 articles investigating adsorption of different classes of ...

Mechanism of ion adsorption to aqueous interfaces: Graphene/water vs. air/water.

The adsorption of ions to aqueous interfaces is a phenomenon that profoundly influences vital processes in many areas of science, including biology, atmospheric chemistry, electrical energy storage, and water process engineering. Although classical electrostatics theory predicts that ions are repelled from water/hydrophobe (e.g., air/water) interfaces, both computer simulations and experiments ...

Studies on Adsorption of Some Organic Dyes from Aqueous Solution onto Graphene Nanosheets

Graphene, a new member of the carbon family, was used as an adsorbent due to its exceptional capability to remove Rhodamine B (RB) and Malachite Green (MG), two organic dyes, from aqueous solutions. Adsorption kinetics of RB and MG onto graphene and adsorption capacity of the adsorbent were studied. Also the effects of parameters, including pH, contact time, temperature, and adsorbent dosag...

Literature Review of Feedback Control for Drinking Water Purification

The disinfection of raw water plays an important role in environmental engineering. In this document we overview several feedback controllers proposed by different authors to purify the water contained in water distribution systems. Several techniques to purify the water and the sensors needed as part of the whole system are presented to provide an overview of the components and processes encou...
